HistoryIT’s Digital Preservation Packages for Junior Leagues leverage our industry-leading digital collection expertise to provide levels of services to meet the needs of Junior Leagues of all ages and budgets. We will work to digitally preserve and create your digital archive. These packages include the strategy, imaging, tagging and software to save and share your historical materials.
Whether in a room, a closet or on a shelf, all Leagues maintain their own collections of historical materials. Many members also have photographs and other mementos that are part of their League’s history. For the most part, these irreplaceable resources are deteriorating or in danger of being lost. Facing this reality, most people become quickly overwhelmed and don’t know where to begin. A HistoryIT Preservation Package provides an immediate solution.
Basic
This entry level package is ideal for Leagues that have identified materials most in need of digital preservation, as well as those materials that community members would find most exciting to see online. The Basic Digital Preservation Package offers guidance for organizing and digitally preserving all of your archival holdings over time and also produces a digital archive and online timeline to manage and share the newly digital historical materials. Digital preservation includes up to 1,000 archival assets*. It requires that your League have at least one point person who is willing to answer questions, meet via video conference with HistoryIT, and pack and ship a selection of materials.
Advanced
The Advanced Digital Preservation Package is ideal for Leagues that need more support in figuring out what types of materials to send and also wish to have a larger digital archive to start with. HistoryIT conducts more video interviews than available in the Basic package in order to produce a detailed customized plan to organize and digitally preserve the entirety of your archival holdings over time. It also produces a digital archive, online timeline, biography portal, and storytelling platform to manage and share the newly digital historical materials. Digital preservation includes up to 2,500 archival assets*. It requires that your League have at least one point person who is willing to answer questions, meet via video conferences with HistoryIT, and pack and ship a selection of materials.
Professional
This package is ideal for Leagues that need more support in figuring out what types of materials to send and also wish to have a larger digital archive to start with. HistoryIT conducts more video interviews than available in the Basic package in order to produce a detailed customized plan to organize and digitally preserve the entirety of your archival holdings over time. The Professional Digital Preservation Package also produces a digital archive, online timeline, biography portal, and storytelling platform to manage and share the newly digital historical materials. Comprehensive
The Comprehensive Digital Preservation Package is ideal for Leagues that are responsible for a very large collection of archival materials, seek a professional assessment of the holdings, and are planning to celebrate a milestone event, such as a 100th, 75th or 50th anniversary, within the next three years. The goal of this package is to professionally create a comprehensive digital archive of all or most of a Leagues’s history, as well as produce a highly engaging customized retrospective from founding through the milestone celebration. HistoryIT sends an expert to conduct an onsite assessment and meeting with stakeholders; and produces a digital archive, online timeline, biography portal, storytelling platform, and milestone celebration retrospective. Digital preservation includes up to 10,000 archival assets*. If the size of your collection exceeds this number, HistoryIT will create a customized plan to add the remaining materials in discrete phases. It requires that your League have at least one point person who is willing to answer questions, as well as organize an on site assessment and meeting with interested parties.
